Summary of Job Function
At LGA, our primary focus is on our people. As an Associate in LGA's OMA service line, you will be responsible for providing bookkeeping and accounting services to a diverse range of clients, both for-profit and not-for-profit, across various industries-from startups to mature companies. This position combines performing accounting tasks and leveraging technology with developing strong client relationships.
Essential Job Duties
Performs a variety of accounting functions while learning and gaining experiences in the area of bookkeeping, accounting, and technology
Prepares month-end closings including the reconciliations and recording of adjusting journal entries, as needed
Assist the client in populating their activity to an accounting cycle of cash receipts, cash disbursements, payroll, and adjusting journal entries.
Serve as our client's outsourced accountant, either performing the entire function or working with other members of the client's team.
Prepares Financial and Management level reporting
Embraces opportunities to interact with the client regularly and develop client relationships with leadership and the accounting teams
Embraces opportunities to learn and be involved in advisory services with our clients
Demonstrates a strong learning ability and passion to embrace new technological platforms
Prepare accurate and well-organized workpapers while demonstrating a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Apply accounting knowledge identifying and addressing misapplications in client-prepared financial documents and reporting any concerns to the engagement lead.
Utilize CCH, Microsoft, QuickBooks, and other OMA software efficiently, identifying opportunities to enhance technology use for improved client service and project efficiency.
Accurately identify and document fundamental accounting systems and controls in assigned areas, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Education and Experience:
Associate degree or bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
0-2 years' experience in a related field
Required Qualifications:
Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and able to manage multiple deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrate the ability to interact with various levels of firm management and external clients in both written and verbal form.
Ability to balance with ease multiple priorities and clients with weekly and monthly deliverables
Respect for compliance and confidentiality.
Ability to work with a sense of urgency and be flexible in tasks and time with managing your workload with adjustments to your schedule especially during peak workload times in the service line. Client deliverables might result in additional time during the work week.
Comfortable working with technology and operating in a paperless office

This job is performed in an office setting, indoors, client's location, and at times travel to one of the other firm offices may be required.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines and support the team during traditional peak seasons.
